This year's Church School Calendar
The 2011-2012 Church School year will begin on Sunday, September 18th
at 9:45 am with "Welcome Back" activities, worship, fellowship and food for all!
Teachers will be commissioned for their ministry of Christian Formation during
the 10 am Mass and all are invited to stay for hot dogs and ice cream following
the service.

The Fall 2011 Church School curriculum will feature Bible stories focusing on
"attitudes" and Biblical kings and queens, using exciting, interesting and
interactive materials produced by GROUP Publishing. (St. Matthew's has
often used GROUP's Vacation Bible School curricula for our Special Summer
Sundays program). We received a diocesan Congregational Development grant
to help us purchase these materials.

Classes are offered for children in preschool through high school.

We will continue to hold "First Sunday" Family Services on the first Sunday of
the month (with few exceptions) and the "extended day" programming on the
third Sunday of each month (children stay in church school for the entire morning,
receiving Communion in the Chapel at the close of the worship service, and
rejoining their families in the Parish Hall).

A note to parents: ALL of our Church School Staff are required to attend “Safe Church” Training, and to encourage “Safe Church” practices, to help keep ALL of Saint Matthew’s children safe. If you would like to know more about the “Safe Church” training and policies, please speak with the Rector.
Nursery News…..
The nursery is looking for some volunteers to help out one or two Sundays with our very young children (future St. Matthew’s parishioners!).

information in Sunday Service leaflets and on the Bulletin Board.
The first meeting for the year will be held on Sunday, August 28th at the Beaudoin Cottage in Millbury. Please attend!
